Merseyside artist currently based in Manchester, Anya Evans studied BAHons Fine Art and Art History at Manchester Metropolitan University. Evans is a mixed media artist with a background in traditional printmaking, drawing and painting. During her time studying Evans exhibited her art work at West Art Collective’s Indelicate 2.0 (2021) and Psyche (2022) exhibitions. Evans’ current and ongoing art work, My Collection, focuses on communicating narratives of human experience through the curational practice of digital archive. Through documentation, categorisation and the elevated framing of mundane objects she communicates a sense of wanting to relate and be related to. Evans writes mainly under a psychoanalytical framework, focusing on documenting and analysing the group and individual practices of Surrealist artists.
